THAT IT APPEARS GOOD DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT
It's my first post of the year, and I'm glad I get to give you this as my little birthday gift! I appreciate the love showered on me on my birthday yesterday. I'm grateful for you!
If you are new here, welcome!😊
Let's get right into it!

.
Now, God is ever willing to lead us aright. And this is why he has given us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. See what Jesus says here in John 14:16-17 (EASY) 👇
"I will ask the Father to help you with this. He will send another Helper to be with you. That Helper will stay with you always. He is God's Spirit, and he shows you what is true...."
The Holy Spirit shows us what is true. But sometimes we do not enquire to know the mind of God concerning certain situations. We depend on what we think is the right way.
That it appears good does not make it right. That's why the Bible tells us not to lean on our understanding. See👇
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
We see all through the Scriptures how men who walked with God and were used mightily for his glory, enquired of the Lord from time to time before taking certain steps. Men like Abraham, Moses, Joshua, David and so many others. Rebekah enquired of the Lord when the two children were struggling in her womb(Gen 25:22).
And we also see the consequences some of these men had to face when they refused to seek the face of God concerning a matter. Let's look at the story of Joshua.
In Joshua chapter 9, we see how the people of Gibeon were able to deceive Joshua and the men of Israel to make a peace treaty with them so that they will not be destroyed like the other nations. This happened because Joshua did not ask the Lord about it. It was later on they found out that they were deceived.
“Joshua and the other leaders finally believed them. They did not bother to ask the Lord but went ahead and signed a peace treaty. And the leaders of Israel ratified the agreement with a binding oath.” — Joshua 9:14-15 (TLB)
If you are confused about a situation, pause and ask, Lord is this what you want for me? Should I go ahead with this? Father, what do you think about this? He will definitely give you an answer. The answer might not come immediately or in a way you expect, but He will direct you.
The Holy Spirit is dynamic. The answer you need could be as simple as dropping a scripture in your heart, leading you to other men to seek wisdom, prompting you to take action on that idea and so many many other ways. There are no limitations with Him. Just let your heart be opened to receive his directions.
Ask the Lord about the decision you are about to make. Don't fall into the pressure of taking that step because that is what every other person seems to be doing.
Don't fall into the trap of accepting a wrong gift because it looks 'good'.
God can always be trusted to lead, guide and instruct you in the way you should go. And the thing is, when you understand that God wants to lead you more than you even want to be led, you will make it a priority in allowing Him to direct your path.
Sometimes, following his path might look as if you are 'slow' or 'foolish'. But in due time, you will be grateful that you followed his instructions. God's plan for us is always to give us the best. Here is a verse you should always keep in your heart 👇
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
Enough of us running our lives like we own it. Enough of running into avoidable errors because we refused to follow his own way and decide to live on our own terms. Enough of just calling him ‘’Lord”, and not truly making him Lord over our lives.
Run with the consciousness that He is your Lord and He will direct your path.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; Trust also in him; And he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:5 (KJV)
