NOBODY HAS IT ALL FIGURED OUT

As I write this, there are a whole lot of things I don't still get yet. There are many things that I'm still trying to figure out. 

Sometimes, we put unnecessary pressure on ourselves because we believe we are suppose to get everything figured out at a time. The truth is, you can't get everything figured out at once. It's a process. 

As you grow, learn, expand in knowledge, seek counsel, gain new experiences; things will begin to get clearer and clearer. Life is in phases. Even the people you look up to do not have everything figured out. We all keep getting better. 

Stop feeling bad because you haven't achieved certain things at 22, or 24, or 27. Or whatever your age is right now. That Tola accomplished something amazing at 21 does not mean you would not also celebrate great things eventually.

The most important thing is that you focus on your journey. Yes, there will be a lot of distractions. Yes, you would make some big or little mistakes. There are times when you would just feel tired of everything. There are times when you would feel overwhelmed by the challenges. 

Nonetheless, you must understand that every single person is different and we all have our own timing. 

Celebrate other people!

Avoid comparison as much as possible.

Commit to building yourself from time to time. Pray, pray.

Seek the right counsel. Learn from other people who have gone ahead. There is always some other person who has passed through the road you are just about to begin. 

Relax, calm down. Put the pressure away and focus on improving yourself continuously.

This is not to give room for complacency or laziness. No. This is to encourage you to keep pushing for excellence in whatever it is that you do. To keep striving to be a better version of yourself. To stay true to the process. 

You will be celebrated. You will make tremendous impact and accomplish beautiful things!

I left the examination hall that afternoon with so much anxiety. I just hoped that everything would eventually turn out fine. The aggregate score of each candidate for the examination would be sent via a text message the next morning.  Those who knew me well, understood that I never joked with having a good sleep. But this time, I kept rolling from one end of the bed to the other as it was quite difficult for me to sleep. All that went through my head were thoughts of what I would score in the examination.  At exactly 7am, my phone vibrated as it would when a text message was delivered.
