WILL IT STAND THE TEST OF TIME?
I remember some few years back, when we moved into our house newly; dad bought a tank that would be used to supply water into the house. Normally, for things like this, a structure has to be built or set up, for the tank to be placed on it. So, the people who could get the work done were contacted, and the structure was put in place.
However, what was set up, was a makeshift structure. It was just put together to carry the tank for a while, till there was enough in place to erect a proper edifice. Few years went by, and we continued to use the tank; till one day....
Ha-ha! Do you remember the Humpty Dumpty rhyme? If you are familiar with that rhyme, you would remember Humpty Dumpty's great fall, and how they couldn't put him back together again. Yeah? Exactly! It was the same thing that happened to the tank that day. It fell from the structure, and broke into pieces! Oh yes, it was a huge shock! The sound it made was soooo loud! Our neighbors had to come out to see what happened. It was that bad.
Now, what am I trying to bring out of this? No matter how good something might look, if the foundation is bad or not properly laid, it will collapse. I say it again.
It. will. collapse.
As long as it does not have the right foundation, it cannot stand the test of time. You see, laying a strong and proper foundation for our lives is so important. Yes, it takes time. It takes effort. It takes intentionality. We would have to put some work. It might look like others who are doing things the wrong way or using 'shortcuts' are moving ahead. It might look like they are the smart ones. It always looks like that, but at the end of the day, they only gained speed in the direction that was not right.
So, this is an encouragement from me to you, to keep standing for the truth. To keep standing for the things that are in line with God's word. To continue to live a godly lifestyle.
The structure for the tank showed some signs of weakness, but we kept supporting it with blocks.. Thinking that when there were enough funds,we would erect a better one.
Well, at the end of the day, more money was spent because of the additional cost of getting a new tank...
Probably, there are certain things that you need to correct or put in place; trust me, it is better to adjust it now. Especially if someone has been pointing your attention to it. It will save you from a lot of stress.
I just used this story to illustrate the importance of been careful to lay a good foundation in relation to do things we do, and how we live our lives.
So we will keep building on on the right foundation. We will keep encouraging one another to stand for the right things, because we have the word of God as our sure guide. And we have been called to radiate God's light.
Even though the difference is not clear now, we would see it was worth it after all.
With so much love,
MHOYEEN
I invite you today to accept Jesus Christ into your heart, if you have not. He loves you. And he wants you to radiate beauty and fulfill purpose. All you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead to give you eternal life. Say this with me.
"Lord Jesus, I come before you today. I believe and confess that you died for me and rose again to give me eternal life. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for forgiving my sin. Thank you for saving me. I am born again. I am saved. I am a child of God in Jesus name, Amen.
If you said this short prayer, congratulations! You are a new creation in Christ Jesus.
Please send me a message. I will be glad to talk and pray with you.😊
