BUILDING POSITIVE VALUES

Have you clearly defined what your values are? If you have, then you should be living by them. Did you just make up a list of 'good values' in your head, so that when you are asked you will be able to say something?

Have you really taken out time to think about the things that are important to you? I mean, the things that you find acceptable, and the things that you don't?

I ask these questions because having values are so important. They help us in making decisions, and also help to set boundaries in certain situations. Having values and living by them, helps you to put a structure in place.

You do not live your life like anything goes. It helps you to stand for something. Not everything. If you have not clearly defined what your values are, now is the time to do so.
Sit down (preferably in a quiet place). Think deeply about the things that are important to you. Write them down. It could be serenity, loyalty, trust and so on. Be very sincere with yourself as you do this. Do not feel like some of the things that you have written down is somewhat insignificant.

You are different. What seems unimportant to someone else, might mean a lot to you. If you are able to define this clearly, you will see that it begins to have influence on the kind of actions you take, or the decisions you make.

Now, if you have clearly defined the things that are important to you, it is essential that you know that they are uniquely connected to who you are. However, one thing you should also know is that positive values can be built, with a lot of intentionality.

That is, you can open yourself up for improvement by consciously building values that would help you become a better person. For example, you can decide to develop values such as; gratitude, transparency, integrity, excellence. Whatever you think is essential to the kind of person you want to be.

And I must say, deliberately aligning ourselves with the word of God and opening ourselves up to the Spirit of God for help, would form a solid foundation for building good values.

These values are actually built by doing it. You build honesty when you do not cheat others even when you have the opportunity to do so. You build value such as gratitude by learning to say thank you even if you are entitled to a certain thing.

Certain people have gotten endorsements and recommendations simply because of value such as integrity. Yes, they worked hard. But more importantly, they paid attention to developing strong values, that paid off in the long run.

In addition to all of these, I have discovered that having good values and clearly defining them, will help you deal with unnecessary relationships. The truth is, if you do not share similar values with a certain person or group of people, your level of association with them will be very minimal or totally eliminated (if need be). It's that simple.

There is nothing more important as relying on God to help you; as you commit to developing positive values, and sticking to them even in the face of compromise.

I invite you today to accept Jesus Christ into your heart, if you have not. He loves you. And he wants you to radiate beauty and fulfill purpose. All you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead to give you eternal life. Say this with me.

"Lord Jesus, I come before you today. I believe and confess that you died for me and rose again to give me eternal life. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for forgiving my sin. Thank you for saving me. I am born again. I am saved. I am a child of God in Jesus name, Amen."

If you said this short prayer, congratulations! You are a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Please send me a message. I will be glad to talk and pray with you.😊
